French Toast with Maple Syrup
Ingredients:
1 loaf of bread, preferably challah bread
3 large eggs
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
Dollops of maple butter
First Chair maple syrup, to taste
Preparation:
Slice the bread into 1-inch thick slices.
Whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and vanilla.
Heat a griddle over medium heat, and add butter to the hot surface as needed; swirling to cover.
Dip a slice of bread in the egg and cream mixture; flip and re-dip. Add to griddle, and grill until golden on one side; flip and repeat.
Serve with more maple butter, and of course, maple syrup.
